Refuse / Recycling Driver (Class 2)

We are looking for an experienced Refuse / Recycling Driver (Class 2) to join a busy Waste & Recycling team. You'll be responsible for safely operating refuse collection vehicles, supervising the collection crew and delivering an efficient, reliable service to local residents.

This is a physically active role, ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in delivering an essential public service.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive and operate refuse and recycling collection vehicles safely.
• Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report defects.
• Supervise and support the collection crew throughout the working day.
• Complete collections efficiently and in line with planned routes.
• Assist with loading refuse and recycling when required.
• Operate in-cab technology, tachographs and complete vehicle documentation.
• Promote safe working practices and excellent customer service.
• Comply with all Health & Safety procedures and road traffic legislation.

Requirements

• Category C (Class 2) LGV Licence (essential).
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Previous experience driving LGV/Class 2 vehicles.
• Ability to supervise a small team.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and road safety.
• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Experience within refuse, recycling or waste collection is desirable.
