Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 03-07-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

To provide high-quality housing advice and homelessness prevention services to residents, ensuring compliance with relevant housing legislation and delivering customer-focused support to individuals at risk of homelessness.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and up-to-date housing advice to customers in person, by phone, and in writing.

Assess homelessness applications in line with the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

Develop and implement Personal Housing Plans (PHPs) to prevent or relieve homelessness.

Conduct detailed interviews and assessments to determine housing needs and eligibility.

Liaise with landlords, housing providers, and support agencies to secure accommodation or sustain tenancies.

Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with data protection and council procedures.

Provide support to vulnerable individuals, including those with complex needs.

Work collaboratively with internal departments and external partners to deliver effective housing solutions.

Keep up to date with changes in housing legislation, policy, and best practice.
