Contract to start ASAP until 08-11-26 with a possible extension.

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Grounds Operative to join a busy Grounds Maintenance team. This is a physically demanding outdoor role maintaining parks, schools, sports pitches, playgrounds and public open spaces to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming and general grounds maintenance.
• Maintain parks, schools, sports pitches, playgrounds and landscaped areas.
• Operate hand tools, powered equipment, tractors and other machinery safely.
• Carry out basic maintenance of sports pitches and recreational facilities.
• Undertake cleaning duties within parks, changing rooms, public toilets and open spaces.
• Complete playground inspections and report any defects.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.

Requirements

• Physically fit and able to carry out manual outdoor work in all weather conditions.
• Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
• Must live within Carmarthenshire.
• Flexible to work 43 hours per week during the summer and 31 hours per week during the winter, depending on service requirements.
• Experience in grounds maintenance, gardening or landscaping.
• Experience operating grounds maintenance machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable

• NPTC PA6A qualification.
• First Aid qualification.
• Experience towing trailers or operating tractors.
