Electrical Technical Officer

Housing Property Services – Compliance Team

Role Overview

We are seeking a fully qualified Electrician to join the Compliance Team as an Electrical Technical Officer. This role is ideal for someone looking to move from hands-on electrical work into compliance, auditing, and quality assurance.

You will support the Gas, Electrical and Mechanical (GEM) Team and help reduce a backlog of unsatisfactory EICRs across domestic properties.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit EICRs and verify completion of remedial works
• Update compliance systems and ensure certificates are satisfactory
• Carry out on-site quality assurance inspections
• Inspect fuse boards, installations, and electrical safety in domestic homes
• Liaise with Housing Officers and external partners (e.g. Power Grid)
• Review specifications for new-build and planned works
• Maintain accurate digital records and reports

Essential Requirements

• Fully qualified Electrician with domestic experience
• Strong knowledge of EICRs, electrical standards, and remedial works
• Confident carrying out inspections and reading technical specifications
• Good IT and reporting skills
• Interest in progressing into compliance and auditing
