Job Purpose

The Mayoral Combined Authority has ambitious objectives to transform bus services, improve customer outcomes, strengthen delivery capability and maximise the benefits of devolved funding and powers.

To support these ambitions, the Authority requires an experienced specialist to lead a comprehensive review and redesign of the Bus Directorate's organisational structure, operating model, governance arrangements, policies and processes.

This assignment requires an individual with substantial experience of working within a Combined Authority, Strategic Transport Authority, Passenger Transport Executive or equivalent public transport environment.

The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of the statutory functions and responsibilities of transport authorities, bus service delivery, partnership working, governance and organisational transformation.

The objective is to develop a future operating model that ensures the Authority is compliant with its statutory responsibilities, is operationally efficient, and is appropriately structured and resourced to deliver both current priorities and the Mayor's longer-term transport ambitions.
