Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 31-12-26 with a possible extension.

We are looking for a caring, compassionate and dedicated Residential Child Care Worker to support children and young people with disabilities, including autism and learning disabilities, within a residential care setting.

This rewarding role involves providing high-quality care and support, promoting independence, encouraging personal development, and creating a safe, positive and nurturing environment where young people can thrive. You will work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals to ensure each child receives the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day care and support to children and young people.
• Promote independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes.
• Support children with autism, learning disabilities and additional needs.
• Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.
• Deliver activities and support group sessions.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of children at all times.

Requirements

• Experience working with children or young people in a paid care setting.
• Experience supporting children with disabilities, including autism and learning disabilities.
• Understanding of the physical, emotional and social development of young people.
• Experience working with groups.
• Knowledge of communication methods such as Makaton and PECS is desirable.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A caring, patient and reliable approach.
