Finance Business Partner
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP until 31-03-27 with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
To lead on the financial management, monitoring and reporting of the Council's Capital Programme, ensuring that capital investment is effectively planned, monitored and aligned to the Council's strategic priorities.
To provide high-quality financial business partnering, advice and challenge to Directors, budget holders and project managers on capital investment, financial planning and decision making.
To support the Treasury & Technical Business Partner in delivering the Council's corporate finance responsibilities, including capital financing, statutory reporting, year-end accounts and treasury management activities, providing resilience across the Finance team he spirit and intention of its core values.
An understanding and awareness of the concept of Making Every Contact Count (MECC), attending training where necessary.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with Members, Directors, managers, external auditors and other key stakeholders.
To foster a creative and open environment within the Finance section where employees feel supported, involved and consulted.
Represent the Finance Service at corporate meetings, project boards and working groups, promoting the role of Finance as a trusted business partner
Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, professional standards, financial regulations and Council policies, including Health & Safety, Data Protection and Equal Opportunities.
Support a culture of continuous learning by maintaining professional knowledge and sharing expertise across the Finance team.
