Project Manager – Organisational Improvement Programme

Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 10-08-26 with a possible extension.

Responsibilities:

Work with leads in the business to drive delivery of the associated workstreams

Establish and maintain project plans and timescales to ensure delivery against tight deadlines

Ensure collaboration and track interdependencies across a range of projects to ensure a successful outcome.

Support senior leaders who act as project sponsors, ensuring that they are able to be accountable and take action to address barriers to progress where necessary

Identify gaps in resources and emerging risks to senior managers/appropriate governance

Develop and disseminate key messages and progress on projects to key stakeholders on a regular basis

Organise agendas for regular team meetings and supplier catch-ups

Organise engagement discussions and meetings with internal stakeholders

Manage risks, budgets, KPIs, and reporting to senior leaders and elected members.

Experience and Skills required:

Experience of working the public sector, either in a Local Authority or other Combined Authority context

Experience of strategic financial and/or business planning would be highly beneficial

Proven project/programme management experience in corporate change programmes

Strong stakeholder engagement skills at senior and practitioner level.

Professional Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, Agile).

Track record of delivering transformational, non-IT projects.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clear conclusions to a diverse range of audiences
