Duration: 69 days with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to drive the effective and sustainable adoption of Microsoft AI technologies across Professional Services at Royal Holloway.
Working within IT Services, and reporting to the Lead IT Project Manager with a dotted-line to the Head of Organisational Development & Diversity, the AI Adoption & Training Specialist will develop and deliver role-based training and practical guidance that enables staff to confidently integrate AI into their everyday work.
The role will support the needs of Professional Services and student-facing teams across the University by ensuring teams not only understand the capabilities of tools such as Microsoft Copilot but can apply them safely and productively in real operational contexts.
By building an internal capability, establish repeatable adoption frameworks, and support behavioural change, the post enables the university to maximise value from its AI investments and maintain long-term digital maturity.
Responsibilities:
The role is expected to take a structured and proactive approach to their work, balancing immediate priorities with longer-term planning for change initiatives.
This includes effective time and resource management.
The role will contribute their technical expertise and business insight to collaborative work across IT Services. A strong understanding of Microsoft platforms and their practical applications is essential to support adoption programme design and delivery.
The role will work closely with the wider team to identify and develop practical, value-driven solutions that deliver measurable improvements aligned with the University's strategic objectives.
The role will engage with a broad range of stakeholders across the University to help establish a champion's network, create working norms and practices, and support team in integrating AI into real processes
The duties listed are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time as dictated by the changing needs of the University.
The role will be expected to undertake other duties as appropriate and as requested by their manager.
The role may be required to work at any of the locations at which the business of Royal Holloway is conducted.
