Contract to start ASAP

Duration: 24 weeks with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

To provide practical, administrative and direct support to Social Workers in delivering high-quality services to children, young people and families.

The Social Work Assistant will contribute to safeguarding, care planning, placement stability and positive outcomes for children by undertaking direct work, supporting assessments and maintaining effective records.

Responsibilities

Direct Work with Children and Families

Undertake direct work with children, young people and families as directed by a Social Worker.

Support children and young people to attend appointments, education, health assessments and other identified activities.

Supervise family time/contact sessions and provide factual observations and recordings.

Complete welfare checks, home visits and wellbeing visits where appropriate.

Build positive and professional relationships with children, young people and their families.

Support children and carers in accessing services and resources identified within care and support plans.

Full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and business use insurance.
