Systems Support Analyst
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP until 31-03-27 with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
The Systems Support Analyst is responsible for providing technical support, administration, and maintenance for the Council's business systems and applications.
The role ensures the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise systems while delivering high-quality support to internal users.
The post holder will troubleshoot technical issues, support system upgrades, maintain documentation, and work collaboratively with IT teams, suppliers, and business stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
Responsibilities
Provide first-, second-, and where appropriate, third-line support for business applications and enterprise systems.
Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application and system issues in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Monitor system performance, availability, and functionality, taking proactive action to prevent service interruptions.
Configure, maintain, and administer business applications and supporting systems.
Assist with system upgrades, patches, releases, testing, and implementation activities.
Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access in line with security and governance requirements.
Record, update, and manage incidents, service requests, and problems using the Council's IT Service Management (ITSM) system.
Produce and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
Work closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure, Cyber Security, and project teams to resolve technical issues.
Liaise with third-party suppliers and software vendors to support incident resolution and system improvements.
