Reuse Shop Officer
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP
Duration: 12 weeks with a possible extension.
Responsibilities
Be a nominated keyholder to open and close the reuse shops
Work with the team on the preparation days and reuse shop open days
This will require a high level of manual handling, loading, transporting and rotating stock
To work with Suez staff in identifying, salvaging and inspecting items from HRC
Safely load, transport, prepare, present and price items for sale in reuse shops
To assist with the financial transactions: operating the till, cash handling, end of day reconciliation and accurate recording of weights
To help create a welcoming and appealing space for customers and volunteers
To maintain a high level of health and safety standards for volunteers and customers through safe working practices including good housekeeping
Deliver a high standard of customer service providing advice and information when dealing with enquiries and complaints
Maintain a positive relationship with HRC staff and volunteers to help improve their knowledge and enthusiasm
To engage with customers on environmental issues such as circular economy, climate, reducing, reusing and recycling of waste
To support the team in the delivery of climate education at the One Planet Centre as well as attending community and pop-up events
To provide support to colleagues in other areas when workloads demand and within the scope of the post holder
