Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 28-06-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

Under the supervision of the Senior Income Officer, to work as part of a team responsible for the maintenance of rent, service charge and recharges accounts and to assist with the recovery of unpaid charges.

The target for the team is the highest standards of rent and income excellence.

Responsibilities

Ensure all changes to accounts are carried out promptly and accurately

Control charges and payments in respect of Universal Credits payments.

Notify residents promptly of changes to their accounts.

Actively promote payment by Direct Debit, maximising payment by this method.

Set up new Direct Debits without delay and monitor frequently to ensure amounts collected from bank accounts are accurate

Advise tenants of changes to HB entitlements and make changes to accounts and direct debits as appropriate.

Issue Digital Payment Cards and Allpay payment cards

Regularly check accounts for changes in benefits and overpayments requiring refunds

Assist with recovery processes to support colleagues through peaks of workload

Make arrangements with debtors for the settlement of arrears and to closely monitor compliance with arrangements

Liaise with BCP Council benefits teams regarding payments to accounts
