Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 04-09-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the procurement function within the Councils Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, ensuring efficient, compliant, and value-for-money purchasing processes that support organisational objectives and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing development of the ERP procurement module.

Manage end-to-end procurement processes within the ERP system.

Ensure compliance with public sector procurement regulations and council policies.

Develop and maintain procurement workflows, controls, and approvals.

Work closely with finance, IT, and service departments to align systems and processes.

Provide expert advice on procurement best practice and system use.

Train and support staff in using ERP procurement systems.

Monitor supplier performance, contracts, and spend data.

Produce management reports and performance metrics.

Support contract management and tendering activities.

Identify opportunities for efficiency savings and process improvements.

Manage data integrity, system security, and audit requirements.

Support system upgrades, testing, and change management.
