Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 31-03-27 with a possible extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and update computer records and systems in line with procedures and policy both local and national.

Deal with internal and external customer enquiries and correspondence regarding Council Tax (and occasionally Business Rates) ensuring that a consistently high quality of service is delivered.

Make payment arrangements with customers as and when required.

Take payments over the phone as and when required

Signpost customers with respect to benefits and personal finances/budgeting.

Undertake Direct Debit collection duties, Valuation Office Agency schedules, Cash posting and Contact Manager processing

Attend Court to assist customers

Contribute to the development and implementation of the team's procedures, ensuring that the procedure manuals are accurate and up to date.

Participate in the initial induction & training of employees as required.

Participate in the introduction, maintenance and development of new systems, including computer based, aimed at securing improvements in service delivery.

Participate in the review of procedures, systems and processes as requested.

Comply with the Council's standing orders, financial regulations and departmental instructions.

Comply with the Health and Safety regulations.

Comply with the Council's policies on Equalities and Environmental issues.

Participate in the Great Performance Conversation Scheme.
