Occupational Therapy Lead
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP
Duration: 26 weeks with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
In this position, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Councils aims by delivering high-quality services and contributing to projects that benefit the local community.
This involves collaborating with colleagues across departments, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
They will be encouraged to take the initiative, work independently when required, and uphold our values of integrity, respect, and innovation.
The ability to make informed decisions, drive performance improvements, and maintain oversight of service operations is essential at this level.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team of qualified occupational therapists and support staff, setting clear goals and expectations to drive service excellence and continuous professional development.
Oversee the delivery of comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring best practice and compliance with relevant legislation and clinical standards.
Develop, implement, and monitor service improvement initiatives, policies, and procedures to enhance quality of care, efficiency, and outcomes for service users.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, external partners, and community organisations to facilitate integrated working and seamless support for adults with complex needs.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who thrives in a team environment but is equally comfortable working independently.
With strong communication and organisational skills, a keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, they will be well-suited for this role.
Ideally, they have experience relevant to the sector and are committed to ongoing professional development.

A degree in Occupational Therapy is essential.
Previous experience in a service manager or similar leadership position, with a proven track record of managing teams and services effectively, will be highly regarded.
