Family Information and Advice Officer
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP until 07-08-26 with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
To provide high quality and comprehensive support to children and their families and empower them to plan, work towards and achieve positive outcomes.
To contribute to efficient service delivery, as an individual and as part of a team, in accordance with local policies procedures and legislation.
To robustly screen, gather and analyse high quality information for children and their families to receive the right support that is aligned with their needs.
To support robust evidence-based decision-making about thresholds for intervention and support.
To work collaboratively and effectively with partner agencies to support joint decision-making.
Responsibilities:
To effectively and efficiently screen/triage new referrals and progress to the right team within the required timeframe.
To gather and accurately record information to support appropriate and timely decision-making.
To make preliminary identification of children and families' needs, assessing the risk in respect of the concerns raised using relevant guidance and legislative documents.
To evidence good communication and partnership working, gathering further information from referrers, partner agencies and children and families to support evidence-based decision making.
To work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time.
To attend regular meetings along with colleagues, management and other professionals and to support the aims and objectives of the service.
To make effective use of management information systems, including information technology, in the recording, retrieval and analysis of information as required.
To seek guidance and professional support from social workers, team managers and service manager, to ensure that all functions are carried out within the legislative frameworks that underpins the service.
To ensure allocated work is completed within agreed timescales
