Duration: 26 weeks with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
We're looking for an experienced Service Manager to join our Child Protection Service, supporting the delivery of high-quality services and improved outcomes for children, young people and families across Plymouth.
This role is anticipated to run for around 6 months.
This is a key leadership role, working across core areas including referral and assessment, children's social work and permanency (including fostering).
You'll lead and support managers and teams, oversee performance and quality, and ensure services are safe, effective and compliant with safeguarding requirements and legislation.
You'll play a central role in driving service improvement, managing performance against key targets, and working with partners across the system to respond to emerging issues and deliver better outcomes.
The role also includes oversight of budgets, contract activity and quality assurance across your service area.
We're looking for a confident, credible leader with strong experience in statutory children's services, who can operate at pace, influence across teams and maintain a clear focus on impact.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding, performance management and multi-agency working is essential.
