Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 29-05-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

To support Bracknell Forest Borough Council in making informed, evidence-based decisions by collecting, analysing, interpreting, and presenting high-quality data.

The Data Analyst will provide insights that improve service delivery, performance management, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities

Collect, clean, validate, and manage data from multiple internal and external sources.

Analyse large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and performance issues.

Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and visualisations.

Support service managers and senior leaders with data-driven insights.

Maintain and develop performance monitoring frameworks.

Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with data protection regulations (GDPR).

Work closely with IT, service teams, and external partners to improve data systems.

Experience of collaborating with ICT, Performance and subject matter expert colleagues to secure and improvements in the automation and functionality of data dashboards to support service delivery and strategic oversight of services.

Experience in data modelling

Strong experience of Microsoft Azure services and other tools to build data pipelines to collectively bring together data

Strong Python and SQL (PostregreSQL and BigQuery preferred) skills to assure that data is cleansed, mapped, transformed and optimised for storage and use according to business and technical requirements

Experience with cloud platforms

Experience of loading transformed data into storage and reporting structures in destinations including data warehouse, high speed indexes, real-time reporting systems and analytics applications.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform)

Solid Linux/Unix skills for server and network configuration.

Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence decisions and processes that affect Bracknell Forest Council

Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
