Business Support Assistant
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP
Duration: 30 weeks with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
To provide efficient, high-quality administrative and business support to services across the council.
The postholder will ensure the smooth day-to-day running of office functions, support service delivery, and contribute to excellent customer service for internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative support including data entry, document preparation, filing, scanning, and records management.
Act as a first point of contact for enquiries via phone, email, and in person, ensuring a professional and helpful response.
Maintain and update databases, case management systems, and spreadsheets accurately and in a timely manner.
Schedule meetings, manage diaries, prepare agendas, and take minutes where required.
Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial transactions in line with council procedures.
Support the coordination of service activities, including booking appointments and tracking progress.
Handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with data protection legislation and council policies.
Assist with report preparation, performance data collection, and basic analysis.
Liaise with internal departments and external partners to support service delivery.
