Contract to start ASAP until 05-04-26 with a possible extension.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical advice, guidance and support to a service and its customers

Assist with business process re-engineering, process mapping and application of change management techniques

Lead a team carrying out environmental cleansing, horticultural and grounds maintenance work for example emptying bins, removal of litter by hand or specialist cleansing equipment, removal of weed growth, handling and disposing of waste materials and drug litter, winter salting duties, chemical control, upkeep of verges and green spaces, utilising pedestrian or specialist grounds maintenance equipment, maintenance of shrubs and other plants, sports pitch maintenance erection / dismantling of sports posts and assisting with sports markings.

Operate, maintain and secure equipment, including powered hand tools and plant

Ensure the security of vehicles, buildings and resources within own control, including carrying out vehicle checks

Respond to customer enquiries and complaints, ensuring wherever possible a satisfactory outcome

Work with other operatives for example in site preparation and construction work, cluding setting and marking out pitches; planting, pruning and aftercare of tree: rubs and other plants: upkeep of greens/fine turf areas and chemical contr

Report accident or damage to property, street defects, and assist on enviro-crime enforcement operations.

Ensure the provision of monitoring or management information, including time sheets, near miss reports, safety observation systems and vehicle checks

Ensure that the manager is made aware of any variations in schedules of work or work specifications such that they would affect service delivery

Help to deliver and coordinate campaigns, events and initiatives

Supervise other operatives, trainees, seasonal employees or volunteers assisting

Experience in waste operations and vehicle handling

Physically fit for outdoor manual work in all weather

Strong teamwork and customer service skills

Knowledge of health & safety and environmental practices

Ability to supervise and allocate tasks

Category C driving licence
