Job Purpose

To support the efficient collection, loading, and disposal of household, commercial, and recyclable waste across the borough.

The Waste Management Loader works as part of a collection crew to ensure waste is collected safely, efficiently, and in accordance with environmental and health & safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Load and collect household, recycling, garden, and commercial waste from designated collection routes.

Assist drivers and crew members during waste collection operations.

Ensure waste containers are handled safely and returned to the correct location after collection.

Maintain high standards of customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.

Report any issues such as contaminated recycling, damaged bins, missed collections, or health and safety concerns.

Assist in keeping collection vehicles clean and operationally ready.

Follow all waste management procedures and environmental regulations.

Adhere to manual handling procedures and safe working practices
