RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise a small team of Surveyors who are responsible for designing and delivering home repairs, improvements and adaptations for residents living in Cambridge City, South Cambs and Huntingdon District Council.

Provide expert advice and a responsive customer service on technical issues for vulnerable people, CHIA team members, key partners and others, to enable Cambs HIA to deliver and develop the service effectively.

To oversee the technical function at Cambs HIA. This will involve sampling and checking schedules of works for compliance, consistency and best practice and training and advising Caseworkers on technical matters.

The post holder will support the Service Manager on technical matters and ensure the team's training and knowledge base is current and up to date with regard building control regulations, contract management, procurement and compliance.

The post holder will ensure workloads between the Surveyors are even both in number, complexity and value and they will oversee the through put of cases to ensure work is completed in a timely way and seek out new income generating opportunities.

The post holder will complete supervisory checks and ensure contractor performance is well monitored and improved as needed.

The postholder will review all contractors KPI's and quality of work and produce reports as required.

The post holder will take the lead on the production of technical specifications for works contracts, evaluate tenders and manage contractor performance including attending meetings with contractors and preparing KPI reports.
