Job Purpose

The Associate Educational Psychologist supports children and young people with a range of educational, emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs.

The role involves working collaboratively with schools, families, and multi-agency professionals to promote inclusion, improve educational outcomes, and support the wellbeing of children and young people across the local authority area.

Responsibilities

Carry out psychological assessments and observations for children and young people experiencing learning, emotional, behavioural, or social difficulties.

Provide consultation, advice, and support to schools, parents, carers, and professionals.

Contribute to Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments (EHCNA) and prepare psychological advice and reports.

Support interventions designed to improve learning, emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and inclusion.

Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, social care professionals, health services, and external agencies.

Assist with the development and delivery of training workshops for schools and professionals.

Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) are offering positions for Associate/ Locum Educational Psychologists to join the Extended Educational Psychology Team.

Roles within this team are for those looking to complete statutory assessments and tribunal work.
Contracts are for in-person assessments across CBC, and occasional out of authority assessments.

It is expected that observational and direct work are conducted in-person.

Meetings can be offered (by negotiation) on-line.
