Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 27-04-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

Individuals are required to understand their responsibilities regarding the proper use of the councils IT resources and information.

It is necessary for individuals to be aware of expectations to safeguard the councils equipment, protect sensitive data and uphold its reputation, while ensuring transparent accountability for all users.

The AUP is intended to be read alongside other IT policies and procedures, as well as council policies related to workplace practices, conduct, and information governance data protection compliance.

Use council IT resources (including mobile phones) for council business.

You may use IT resources for incidental and reasonable personal use, as long as it follows council guidelines.

Ensure access to IT systems is based on business needs and job responsibilities.

Managers review and adjust access when roles or responsibilities change.

Managers must assess IT skills during recruitment and support ongoing training.

Inform your manager if you have access to systems or data not needed for your role.

Obtain approval before accessing the councils network outside the UK.
