Job Purpose

The Ground Maintenance Operative is responsible for maintaining outdoor communal areas, landscaped grounds, and green spaces across Southern Housing properties.

The role ensures estates are safe, clean, attractive, and well-maintained, contributing to resident satisfaction and community wellbeing.

Responsibilities

Grounds Maintenance

Carry out routine grounds maintenance activities across housing estates and communal areas.

Mow grass, trim hedges, prune shrubs, weed flower beds, and maintain landscaped areas.

Plant, water, and care for seasonal flowers, trees, and shrubs.

Maintain pathways, car parks, and communal outdoor spaces to a high standard.

Estate Upkeep

Remove litter, leaves, and debris from external areas.

Report and assist in addressing estate maintenance issues, hazards, and environmental concerns.

Support estate improvement projects and seasonal maintenance programmes.

Ensure communal areas remain clean, safe, and visually appealing.

Full driving licence required

Grounds maintenance experience desirable

PA1/PA6 desirable
