Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference Co-ordinator
Job Description:
Contract to start ASAP until 05-06-26 with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
The MARAC Co-ordinator will take a lead for the Council and on behalf of the Safer and Stronger Communities Board for the management and co-ordination of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment functions.
The post holder will co-ordinate and strategically support the development of the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy, and the Domestic Abuse Related Death Review, ensuring that the MARAC processes and challenges are fully incorporated as part of our response to the statutory responsibilities.
The post holder will be responsible for the performance management of the MARAC meetings, providing reports to the MARAC Steering Group on a quarterly basis, and will work with the Head of Community Safety to ensure that any emerging risks and challenges through the MARAC meetings and the MARAC Steering Group are highlighted to senior partnership leads through the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategic Group and the Safer Stronger Communities Board.
The MARAC Coordinator will act as the lead officer on the pan London MARAC Co-ordinators meetings ensuring that Enfield plays a lead role in service improvements and developments, and will work with partner agencies to ensure that safeguarding issues remain central to all domestic violence reduction initiatives within the Borough of Enfield.
The MARAC Co-ordinator will work with the Head of Community Safety and respective Chairs of the MARAC Steering Group and over governance structure related to the domestic abuse agenda, to strengthen the membership and functioning of the groups
Responsibilities:
To be the lead officer in overseeing the MARAC functions, and to co-chair the MARAC meetings with responsibility for ensuring that the agreed actions are fulfilled and recorded.
To advise Head of Community Safety, MARAC Steering Group and VAWG Strategic Group on the emerging issues and challenges that hare highlighted through MARAC meetings.
To provide performance reports to the Head of Community Safety, senior managers and through the VAWG Strategic Group to ensure the MARAC process are robust and meet the statutory requirements of the partner agencies.
To maintain links with key staff in partner agencies, including the Police, Probation, Crown Prosecution Service, Health, housing, voluntary sector and community groups to encourage a consistent, co-ordinated response to Domestic Violence.
To provide advice to senior managers and practitioners regarding high-risk domestic violence cases and partnership challenges.
To ensure that national best practice related to MARAC is reviewed and implemented.
To take the lead and support in the development of public awareness of Domestic violence, using campaigns, publicity material and events; including the co-ordination of the annual White Ribbon Day Conference and liaison with local press to ensure a broad awareness of domestic violence issues.
