Job Purpose

Southern Housing is looking for a skilled Electrician to join our Direct Services team, delivering a high‑quality, resident‑focused repairs and maintenance service.

You'll play a key role in reactive repairs, inspections, and compliance work across occupied and void properties, helping ensure our residents have safe, well‑maintained homes.

You'll work as part of a dedicated team but will be trusted to manage your own workload efficiently, always aiming for a first‑time fix and excellent customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Carry out electrical repairs, maintenance, inspections, testing and surveys in line with regulations and safety standards

Complete work orders and reports accurately using mobile systems

Deliver works within agreed response times and quality standards

Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently, minimising repeat visits

Support emergency call‑out services via a fair rota system

Liaise professionally with residents, including those who may be vulnerable

Support team colleagues, including mentoring when required

Ensure tools, stock, and company vehicles are maintained safely and responsibly

Promote health & safety, compliance, equality, diversity and Southern Housing's HEART values
