Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 13-11-26 with a possible extension.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Assessment and Inclusion Officer to join a busy Adult Social Care team.

In this role, you will carry out financial assessments, determine contributions towards care costs, provide welfare benefits advice and support income maximisation for Adult Social Care service users. You will work closely with internal teams, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and other agencies to ensure assessments are completed accurately and in line with legislation and council policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete financial assessments for Adult Social Care service users.
• Assess contributions towards residential and non-residential care costs.
• Provide welfare benefits and income maximisation advice.
• Liaise with the DWP and external agencies.
• Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
• Review customer assessments and update contributions where required.
• Deliver a professional and compassionate service to vulnerable adults.

Requirements

• Experience in financial assessments, welfare benefits, income maximisation or Adult Social Care finance.
• Knowledge of welfare benefits and current legislation.
• Strong communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Ability to manage a busy workload and work accurately under pressure.
• Experience working with vulnerable customers is desirable.
