Job Description:

Contract to start ASAP until 30-08-26 with a possible extension.

Job Purpose

The Youth Justice Service provides a statutory Child First service under Section 37 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1988, delivering high quality youth justice services to children in Enfield.

The Service is committed to seeing children as children, treating them fairly, and supporting them to build on their strengths so they can make a positive contribution to society.

This approach aims to prevent offending and contribute to safer communities with fewer victims.

We acknowledge that many of the children we support have experienced significant adversity prior to their involvement with our services and may be victims in their own right.

The Victims and Restorative Justice Worker delivers a high quality, responsive and individualised service to victims, in line with the HMIP Victims' Standard.

This includes ensuring victims receive clear and timely information about restorative processes, tailored support, opportunities to make informed choices about their involvement, and a safe and empowering experience throughout their engagement with the Service.

The role contributes to positive restorative outcomes for victims, children and young people, and the wider community.

This includes delivering restorative practice, supporting victim participation, and strengthening organisational arrangements to improve the quality of victim services.

The post holder provides information, advice and support to enable victims to participate in restorative processes at a level of their choosing.

They will undertake victim assessments in line with policies and procedures, support the development and delivery of victim and restorative justice interventions, and deliver one to one and group work with children and young people, including facilitating restorative justice conferences.
