DUration: 12 weeks with a possible extension.
Job Purpose
The Interim Head of Revenues and Benefits will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Council's Revenues and Benefits Service, ensuring the efficient collection of Council Tax and Business Rates, the accurate administration of Housing Benefits and Council Tax Reduction schemes, and the delivery of high-quality customer-focused services.
The postholder will lead service improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, maximize income collection, minimize fraud and error, and support the Council's wider financial objectives during the interim period.
A proven track record of working at a senior level within a Revenues & Benefits Service
A real understanding of how to apply digital tools within services.
A strong communicator, negotiator and team player who's outcome-focused, tenacious, and always thinking broadly.
Energy, resilience, and a focus on delivery even when the going gets tough.
