RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote the use of business intelligence and the benefits of using management information and insight to improve customer satisfaction, achieve efficiencies, and improve performance.
Ensure that systems are in place to capture statutory and regulatory data items and to work closely with senior operational managers to align national reporting requirements with local recording processes, whilst minimising the impact on frontline staff.
Work with services to identify improvement priorities through performance monitoring and review; managing or participating in improvement and value for money activities as necessary.
Ensure that government guidance and procedures are interpreted to enable the council to fulfil statutory data capture and reporting requirements including the information needs of regulatory bodies such as Ofsted.
Coordinate the collation of core data sets to provide robust evidence for inspections and assessments (such as Ofsted), working with service managers to fill gaps and improve data quality as required.
Work with the Corporate Performance Manager to lead deep dive improvement reviews and projects, working with services, to make recommendations
Coordinate and carry out benchmarking analysis to support improvement in priorities.
Lead, facilitate or contribute to programmes and projects to deliver corporate objectives (such as managing demand, digital change, climate change).
Meet income generation targets and to seek opportunities and negotiate with customers to generate income through responding to the needs of customers, marketing of services and product development.
Develop strong working relationships with senior service managers across the council and its partners to ensure that the knowledge extracted is used to drive performance improvements and cost reductions to service delivery.
Lead and manage a team of analysts, developers and officers, taking responsibility for monitoring and feedback on their performance, recruitment and selection, guidance and advice and ensuring their development.
Set targets, monitor and report progress, based on good quality data and analysis, ensuring service or project delivery requirements are met.
